From Tourism Studies to a Content Creator

I have always loved adventure. When I was under school age, I used to shout from the back seat "Let's not go home! Let's not go home!" when the familiar homestreet started to loom after a trip. At school, I was at best learning five languages at the same time, and I was dying to go on every possible trip abroad.

After high school, my main goal for a gap year was to work abroad and gain new experiences. And that came true, I got a job as a Sports&Fitness Instructor in a hotel in Rhodes, where I spent an unforgettable 7 months. After two gap years, I was still unsure what I wanted to study, but by chance found a degree in Activity Tourism taught in English at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. Something about it ignited a huge a spark in me. On a whim, I applied and got in.

During my studies, I was actively involved in the board of the student organisation for tourism management students, worked as an international tutor and studied two semesters abroad in Thailand. I also did an internship in Germany. My interest in marketing reared its head and I took extra courses in social media marketing and tourism marketing. As my thesis, I created a Social Media Marketing Strategy for a tourism company and in my final internship I managed the social media channels and blog for yet another tourism company.

After graduating in November 2021, I knew I wanted to jump into content marketing and learn everything I could about it. There was something so intriguing about it. When I couldn't find a job, I decided to start my own business as a content creator and see where it would take me.

In the beginning, I was open to all kinds of companies from different sectors. I am grateful for all the experience I have gained in producing content for a wide range of companies, from cosmetics brands to engineering and education companies. And I continue to work with many of them, but all along my aim has been to grow as a content creator particularly in the tourism sector. Why?

Why Tourism Content?

Traveling is an enriching experience. A familiar cliché, a hidden truth I have experienced countless times in my life. The reason why I applied to study tourism in the first place. I wanted to provide travellers with the life-changing experiences that I myself have had on my adventures. Stories that I can tell when I'm old. Lifelong friendships. Growth and development.

That's why I want to help tourism businesses create content that invites guests to experience these unique moments. Your business has a unique story and offer.
